Manufacturing Engineer
CNC Swiss Screw Machinist
Manufacturing Engineer
1st Shift
Job Description:
Duties and responsibilities are comprehensive and include the areas of manufacturing machining and process improvement in the areas of programming, training, setup time and cycle time reduction. Job optimization, tooling recommendation and quote-proposal are also key requirements of this position. Working closely with our management team including manufacturing, quality, process engineering, supply chain, resource coordination, technical quoting/sales, shop floor staff as well as Senior Management.
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Strong organizational, communication and excellent team skills are essential. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Ability to interpret, understand and define technical concepts including technical machining techniques, tooling and machine specifications, CAD drawings, and manufacturing processes and communicate these to others. Ability to manage and direct projects from conception to implementation while fulfilling the machining-technical needs of the company.
Job Requirements:
Engage to improve and optimize utilization of machining technology for Omni Components Corp. which includes the following in accordance with strategic goals for the company:
- Provide Engineering support to the Manufacturing floor including the following: · Target under-performing jobs, analyze and make recommendations to either reduce setup/cycle time if appropriate or identify to sales the need to adjust quote on future orders if setup and cycle times have been optimized · Define opportunities for Setup optimization including job ready-tool sets for repeat jobs. Recommend robust and organized setup documentation and procedures · Investigate/develop new de-burr methods/tooling for secondary department. Assist in the design of fixtures for upcoming milling/EDM/grit blast/laser mark · Develop/document standards for setup and run times. Work with management to import these standards into Omni's Visual ERP system providing the ability to accurately measure direct labor efficiencies · Provide machine training for Operators and SU staff
- Establish and implement lean manufacturing ideas including 5s, value-stream mapping and cellular concepts for appropriate products
- Assist in the selection and implementation of Programming Software for machining
- Assist with new technology applications and methods, integration and training
- Assist Sales / Technical Quoting with process definition for quote building
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering, 5-10 years of related experience.
CNC Swis Screw Machinist
2nd & 3rd Shift
Job Description:
Responsible for the setup, programming and operation of CNC Swiss style, multi-axis screw machines in a job shop environment. Must be able to work independently while maintaining a high level of quality and efficiency in the manufacturing of precision components. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in the setup and operation of Swiss style screw machines and have the ability to read and interpret blueprints. Working knowledge of Tsugami and Citizen machines a plus. Strong working knowledge of a variety of inspection equipment such as optical comparator, height gages, thread measuring gages and hand-held micrometers, along with strong math skills are required.
