Vertical Milling Case Study

jump to technical specification

From the traditional beginnings of milling practices, to modern-day CNC Milling technology, much has changed. Continuing advancements in spindle speed, CNC machine control accuracy, fixturing concepts, tool-holders and tooling, pallet utilization, coolant and CAM technology have allowed faster and faster metal removal rates. This has benefited the industry with vast improvements in accuracy, efficiency and yield of precision milled components.

Omni's CNC, Multi-Axis, Vertical Milling capability is supported by a line of MATSUURA AND FANUC milling machines. Our milling machines include integrated 4-axis capability, high-pressure, through-the-spindle coolant and pallet changing capability. Work piece sizes up to 8 inch-cube are where Omni shines. Table sizes of 18 X 34 inch are our work surface limit.

TSUDAKOMA rotary fixtures allow simultaneous control of up to 4-axis of machine movement that

enables components to be finished without the need for re-fixture for secondary
operations. Machining of components in this manner allows machining accuracy
to be sustained for the completion of close tolerance, complex related features.

Omni has increased the effectiveness of these machines with integrated
high-pressure coolant. This technology provides excellent chip flushing capability
for through-the-tool coolant applications for milling operations or deep-drilling
operations. Furthermore, BEERE collet fixtures assist in the flexible gang-fixturing
of smaller components.

CAD/CAM support technology for milling and turning is provided by our extensive
knowledge and use of software enabling rapid EDI, recognition, translation and
conversion of customer provided CAD files into workable machine programs. Most

CAD file types can be viewed and manipulated by Omni's technical staff.

Specialized tooling systems, value added innovations and very talented machinists
enable OMNI COMPONENTS CORP. to offer intelligent solutions to your
machining demands!
